Bio
Bobby Cowan, formerly of Shiner, Texas, is a 2004 Graduate of Texas State
University-San Marcos with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems
and Quantitative Methods. He also began his post secondary education at Blinn College and the
University of Texas at Austin. After his graduation, he was employed by the Texas Department of
Public Safety in Austin as an Asp.Net Developer with the job title designation of Programmer V.
During his tenure at the Texas Department of Public Safety, he was exposed to many ideologies and
technologies pertaining to web development and deployment. He gained insight into .Net
development as well as Windows Sharepoint Server implementations.
After his wife, Melanie, graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio as a General Dentist, he found another job opportunity in San
Marcos at Thermon. At Thermon, Bobby is responsible for developing the current corporate website
and corporate intranet in addition to the secure reps only site. He also has developed a strategic Windows Sharepoint Services website for
Thermon - Shell Oil communications. Along with his duties as the Web Developer at Thermon, he is,
also, responsible for the SQL Server administration and IIS 5.0 and IIS 6.0 Webserver administrations.
In addition to the Windows server administration, Bobby also manages the DocuShare web based file storage
system as well as the new LMS (Learning Management System).
He also serves as a systems analyst in researching potential new systems and programs to meet the needs of
Thermon.
After hours, Bobby develops and maintains websites for a variety of companies and organizations.
Among his recent efforts was a rebuild of the Ranch Hand corporate website for Ranch Hand in Shiner. He also revitalized the
websites for Kaspar
Wire Works,
Kaspar Die and Tool, and Kaspar Electroplating in Shiner, Texas.
He is still responsible for his original website, the Moulton Texas Chamber of Commerce. This website
underwent a complete overhaul in 2006 and went from a static html site to being an Asp.Net website.
Bobby assisted with the development of Shiner's own local celebrity's website,
Bill Pekar.com, in 2004 and recently completed an entire revamp by adding a blog and enhancing the guestbook with security features to prevent distasteful posts and spam. The posts are automatically emailed to Bill for approval prior to publication. He also has done work
for
Roeber Insurance
of Gonzales, Texas and maintains his maternal family website,
Chumchal.com. He has also developed
the site for the
City
of Luling and is currently updating the site for
Herring Family Dental in New Braunfels.
Recent websites include
S&K Electrical Services in Gonzales,
the
Gonzales Noon Lions Club and
The Vaz Clinic in Gonzales. A big project finished
earlier this year was a website for
Rock Motors, LLC in Victoria. Bobby developed a complete suite
for the online management of inventory displayed on the website. Finally, Bobby most
recently has finished the website for his wife's dental practice in Shiner,
Shiner Dental, PLLC.
Aside from his professional life, 
Bobby enjoys spending
time with his wife and family. He enjoys woodworking and hanging out with his father. He also
enjoys spending time
with his
niece and nephew and brothers as well as riding his bike. Bobby is the son of Mark and Linda Beal of Shiner and Robert and Mil Cowan of Moulton. He is married to Dr. Melanie Billimek
Cowan, D.D.S., formerly of Moulton, Texas, and owner of Shiner Dental, PLLC of which Bobby runs the business operations.
Melanie and Bobby currently reside in
Shiner, Texas with their daughter Camille.
